DAB+ Radio Specifically Tailored for People with Dementia
Music is incredibly important for people with dementia. It is one of the last things our brains continue to remember. However, devices often become too complicated for those with dementia, causing music to disappear from their daily routines. This is especially unfortunate as music has a positive effect on the brain. It can bring memories back to life, and has the power to either activate or calm people.
This DAB+ Dementia Radio, like our OER Music Player (also known as the OER Radio), is designed specifically for seniors with dementia. It features the nostalgic design of an old-fashioned radio, including a classic rotary dial for volume control. You can program your three favorite radio stations into the three available memory buttons.
Getting the DAB+ Dementia Radio Ready for Use
For the end user, this radio has just a few simple buttons, making it easy to operate:
- Power on/off (one button)
- Adjust volume (rotary dial)
- Select a preset radio station by pressing one of the three memory buttons (located next to each other)
The setup of the preferred radio stations is done by a family member or caregiver. To access the settings, simply slide the top panel off the radio to reveal a control panel where the stations can be programmed.
Once the radio stations are set, slide the panel back on, and the DAB radio is ready for use.
